"Mrs. P. had only one fault: She was perfect; otherwise, she was perfect."

Babe Paley was the fashion editor of American Vogue in the 1940s and probably the most stylish woman in New York City at the time. She also had a skill for finding rich husbands, including CBS founder William S. Paley. She was also perfectly put together at all times and, to borrow some language from her era, a real lady. It seems that everyone who knew her pointed out how elegant and graceful she always was.
The next time you credit some blogger with overaccessorizing, remember this jewelry storm happening on her wrist.
