Editorial: Put Your Graffiti on Me

I've been a little interested in graffiti lately. It's not just something that's usually done illegally on train cars and the sides of buildings. It's a rebellious form of free expression. It's a way to make your mark in a world where you can be easily looked over.

At the risk of getting deep in a really annoying way, I think a lot of things we do in this life are graffiti. We don't all paint walls, but most of us find some rebellious way to make our mark on the world. If you don't, I suggest you find something. A little rebellion, especially when it's not against the law, is totally healthy and will make you smile every time you think about it.

House Envy: Coffee Table Chic

I don't have much time to find new website lately, but I'm glad I found The Everygirl. It's what I'd like Feather to be more like if I had the free time and resources to do it 24/7. Until that day possibly comes, I can just keep reading The Everygirl's features.

I really love this one about different ways to style a coffee table. That's really one of the most interesting parts of most of these homes I post on here, but it's such a delicate science. These two styles were ones I'd consider having in my future home. While I really like the first, I'd have to admit the second fits my style more.

I want a nice house, but I also want it to feel like home, not just to me, but to anyone who comes by. I don't entertain too much, which probably won't change, but when I do have visitors I want them to be comfortable. I spent way to much time vising relatives with homes where I felt like I couldn't touch anything growing up to do that to other people. I want everyone to get a good vibe and feel free to plop down on my couch.

Magazine Excerpt: Andrew Garfield Talks About Meeting Girlfriend Emma Stone

I thought I'd treat you guys to something insanely adorable today, instead of the usual color story.

Andrew Garfield on his first impression of now-girlfriend Emma Stone during her screen test for The Amazing Spider-Man:
“It was like I woke up when she came in. She was the last person to screen-test, and I was so bored of it by then that I was mucking about—I’d been pretending I was Tom Hanks or Seth Rogen. And then she came in, and it was like diving into white-water rapids and having no desire to hang on to the side. Throughout shooting, it was wild and exciting. I couldn’t help but try to stay with her, keep pace with her, and not let her get away. [Laughs] Like an animal preying on a smaller animal, but a wily smaller animal.”

So Fetch: Leopard Peplum Top

I've been coveting this leopard peplum top from ASOS for quite some time. Mostly, I've been trying to convince myself not to buy it as a gift to...myself. But I already strayed from my no shopping pact last week and bought some rose-colored cropped pants (here are are some similar ones) from Gap. And I may have bought them in black, too.

Just to be clear, I regret nothing.

OK, so I lied...

I won't be able to post today. Too much going on over on my end. But I think I can post tomorrow. No promises. I have been posting some magazine-related content on my Tumblr, though. I'm changing it from a place to just put magazine editorials to a place that also provides links to good celebrity interviews. Check it out today!

Color Story: Red, White & Fabulous

I logged into the Feather Tumblr Sunday night to discover that our followers had increased greatly, all because we've had two photos go viral. The most recent was this photo on Friday and I decided to make it this week's Color Story. The colors are definitely appropriate, since tomorrow is the Fourth of July.

I'd love to say something about my plans for the Fourth of July and how I'll be spending time with friends or family, but I'll actually be at work listening to the fireworks from inside my office building. Oh, the perks of working the night shift.

So Fetch: Glittery Bobby Pins

Ban.do Zesty Curved Bobbies from Anthropologie

I'm starting to realize this feature is becoming the only outlet I've currently got for my shopping addiction. I've surprisingly been really good about not spending all my money in Gap for the past year. But it's seriously hard to go months at a time without shopping.

These Ban.do glitter bobby pins make me want to completely go against all my plans and just splurge my happy little butt off, but I can't. It may start with bobby pins, but it will end with a bunch of shopping bags in my hand and a seriously decreased bank account. Since you guys can probably exercise better control, these cute bobbies are available at Anthropologie.
