Monday Mood Board: Diva Status

If you were alive at all on Friday, you know Queen B released a visual album that no one saw coming. Recording 17 music videos with no leaks and selling 80,000 copies on iTunes in the first three hours is something on a true diva could accomplish.

Since I spent the weekend practically listening to nothing but Beyoncé, I'm on my diva status right now. I've compiled some images of my favorite living divas to help you find your diva-tude, too.

Editorial: Bright Eyes

This takes me back to the first time I saw a photo of Twiggy. The dramatic 1960s eye look is probably my favorite from any era. (If you want to recreate it, I suggest: Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara, $15.)

If you're not familiar with Aubrey Plaza, who poses in this editorial, you should be. The actress is one of the main reasons I tune into Parks & Recreation every week. Her character is pretty much just the worst side of everyone, with very few redeeming moments. Somehow, she makes it funny and endearing.

She worked similar magic in this shoot, featured in Glow Canada.

House Envy: The Glow

Anyone who knows me well is aware that I've never wanted to have kids of my own. I used to feel bad about it, but I don't anymore. It's better to know what you can handle when it comes to something like this, than to go ahead with it. Tiny little lives aren't something you should play around with.

It's not like I hate kids. I know some cool little people and I love them even more since I get to return them to their parents at my leisure.

I found this website called The Glow, which photographs the homes of stylish moms. That's right, not every home with a child has toys in every corner and smells like a diaper genie. That was a recurring nightmare of mine until my friends started having kids and I realized that their homes hadn't been taken over.

This place is home to Stone Fox Bride's creative director, Molly Guy, and her daughter, Sunny. I dare you to find a better bohemian-decorated home with a child in it.

Monday Mood Board: It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas

I did most of my Christmas shopping over the weekend, with the sound of holiday music floating through the air. That's when it really sunk in that the holidays are upon us! We don't have a Christmas show, so I get to be woken  up too early to open gifts. That's the joy of having a 10-year-old sister. And it really is a joy.

This week's mood board is all about the holidays. The only thing I'm missing in Florida is the snow.

The Mary Kay Diaries: BOLD! Moves

We have officially finished the qualification to become a unit! I saw firsthand how hard my sales director, Jessica, worked to make this happen. Thanks to her dedication, we finished a month early.

The only downside is that I'm not technically part of the Shining Stars unit anymore. Michelle Bonner is a really great sales director and a sweet person. I'm seriously hoping I'll still get postcards in the mail from her because they are a treat.

I'm still so happy I joined Mary Kay. I've had so many great experiences, met great people and even gotten closer to God through this experience. I couldn't be more excited for the future, especially the party we're going to have to celebrate this milestone.
